Job Description:
Summary : Travis Credit Union's (TCU) Total Rewards management
team is responsible for the ongoing design and administration of
TCU's Total Rewards programs. Through creative and relevant market
competitive programs, this team is key in supporting and sustaining
a high performing culture that attracts, motivates, retains and
rewards top talent.
Profile:
Leads the execution of the credit union's Compensation and Benefits
(C&B) strategies and programs to help attract and retain the
best talent, all while balancing the bottom line and business
objectives, ensuring delivery in a timely and legally compliant
manner.
Evaluates the effectiveness of existing C&B policies,
guidelines and procedures, proposing opportunities for changes to
ensure TCU programs are relevant and add value by regularly
monitoring market trends; provides data analysis and ROI on total
rewards plans.
Strategically and collaboratively partners with the People team
leadership, and business stakeholders, so as to ensure the success
of TCU's Total Rewards programs.
Leads, trains, evaluates, coaches, professionally develops and
motivates staff to attain department goals. Sets and monitors
performance goals. Promotes a work environment that encourages
involvement, initiative and teamwork. Builds career development
paths for assigned staff.
Takes a creative approach, grounded in data, to continuously evolve
TCU's Total Rewards philosophy and programs, building repeatable
and scalable Total Rewards practices in support of the credit
union's goals and objectives while supporting employees.
Responsible for ongoing evaluation of C&B programs, including
sales and executive compensation, while driving fairness and
compliance in pay practices and policies.
Designs and manages compensation programs, including salary
structure evaluation and design, merit pay processes, job
descriptions and classifications, salary budget review, and market
compensation (survey participation, job evaluation, salary
structure development, executive compensation market movement and
ranges, incentive plan design, and associated analysis).
Designs and manages benefits programs, potentially to include:
health, retirement plans (401k, 457b), life, disability, medical
savings accounts, paid time off, and voluntary plans; inclusive of
annual audits and compliance reporting.
Designs and manages corporate recognition and rewards programs,
partnering with business units ensuring compliance for department
programs to create an enterprise holistic approach to recognition
and rewards.
In partnership with People leadership and business stakeholders,
designs and implements credit union policies and perquisites,
inclusive of employee discounts and educational reimbursement
programs.
Responsible for compliance with current and future C&B laws in
partnership with People Operations, including FLSA, ERISA and
ACA.
Leads annual strategic planning, in partnership with Finance, on
TCU Total Rewards programs and budgets.
Continuously develops key C&B program metrics/scorecards to
assess the effectiveness of TCU's Total Rewards strategies.
Develops strategies to drive employee awareness and understanding
of all compensation and benefit programs.
Collects and leverages feedback from existing employees to define
changes and evolutions to total rewards programs and
philosophy.
Owns C&B vendor/partner relationships, including but not
limited to compensation, benefits, and retirement.
Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of C&B concepts and principles.
In-depth compensation design and administration experience.
Experience in sales compensation plan design and
administration.
Experience administering compensation and benefits programs.
Experience assessing jobs/positions under FLSA and California
exemption guidelines.
Solid understanding and experience working with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA,
COBRA.
Experience with both managed and self-funded health and welfare
programs.
Experience with driving merit planning using both manual and
systemic planning tools.
Ability to foster teamwork.
Meticulous attention to detail with an appreciation of complexity
and risk.
Natural problem solver with a passion for creating simple
solutions.
Ability to build employee-centric rewards programs while balancing
business goals and financial boundaries.
Deep analytical skills with the ability to utilize data to
influence decision making.
A collaborator that isn't afraid to get in the weeds, and believes

Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Reporting and Requirements:
Reports directly to the AVP, Human Resources.
Direct supervisory responsibility for the Supervisor, Total
Rewards.
Overall supervisory responsibility for the Compensation & Benefits
team.
BA/BS and a minimum of 7 years in Human Resources; or equivalent
professional experience.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Compensation and/or
Benefits experience.
ADP HRIS experience ideal.
Minimum of 3 years in supervisory or 5 years in a leadership
roleTotal Rewards experience in the FinTech sector preferred with
private and public company experience a plus.
PHR/SPHR, CEBS, and/or CCP certifications desired.
Experience working with HR processes and policies across multi
states desired.
Experience managing large scale, cross-functional proects.
