Job Description:
Candidates must reside within the communities that Travis Credit
Union serves:Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer,
Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus and Yolo
counties. This position is considered hybrid so you must be within
a commutable distance to our corporate headquarters in Vacaville,
CA.
Summary:Travis Credit Union's (TCU) Vice President of Product
Management is responsible for driving long term product strategy
and business growth while owning the P&L for TCU's deposit and
card payments suite. The VP manages the strategic product roadmap
and complete product life cycle management (product development,
product launch, portfolio management, pricing) while collaborating
with front line and distribution channel leaders to ensure the
successful adoption and engagement of products by TCU members to
meet their financial needs.
The VP is an accomplished leader with knowledge of a member's
journey in the various product delivery interaction channels.
Possessing a passion for overcoming member experience issues, this
person works collaboratively with leaders at all levels across the
enterprise to pursue process improvements that will create a
positive member experience in any channel. This role manages a team
of product managers with major organizational impact.
Primary Objectives and Responsibilities:
-Area of Ownership - Consumer and business deposit and card
(debit/credit) product management and pricing (interest rates and
non-interest / fee price points).
-Strategy - Builds and maintains annual release plan, manages
feature delivery from discovery to validation in production.
Collaborates with executive staff to build and execute the
strategic direction of the product roadmap, focusing on a
consistent and frictionless member experience with competitive and
simple ways for members to get the help, advice and value they
deserve. Defines the strategic priorities and division initiatives
to deliver a dynamic end-user experience that aligns with our
mission and vision and leads the execution of those priorities
across the organization.
-Culture - Ensures alignment with TCU's mission, vision and
organizational growth objectives. Learns, models and teaches TCU
core values and strategic plan. Encourages the team to demonstrate
the member facing focus that we expect. Coaches and develops
leaders. Develops a team of product managers, designers and data
analysts to support business growth.
-Member Centric - Influences strategies and behaviors that result
in member satisfaction, a positive member experience, and member
engagement. Through a test and learn approach, the VP leads the
effort to create a member journey and remove friction to create
positive member feelings about the credit union product offerings.
In collaboration with Marketing, the VP drives member focus groups
to better understand member expectations and needs as part of
product roadmap development.Leverages our brand platform, targets
audience expectations, and Voice of Member feedback to determine
our ideal member journey, to ensure we offer a seamless experience
that is consistent and engaging.
-Data Analytics - Leverages data around member usage and member
feedback analytics that help us to understand the relevance of our
products and services that will help us to continually improve the
lineup to exceed member expectations while improving credit union
profitability and relevance in the market. Works directly with
internal partners to develop strategies for execution. Develops Key
Performance Indicators that measure our success to member
expectation. Uses data and insightful analysis to appropriately
price products to meet business objectives.
-Innovation - Stays current with trends and capabilities, including
emerging technologies, products and services that advance financial
wellness. Advises, counsels, and educates credit union leadership
and staff on the competitive, member service and financial impacts
of these trends and capabilities. Continuously researches and
recommends innovative products, solutions, and process improvements
that will differentiate the credit union in the marketplace.
-Growth - Works with leaders to develop an understanding of overall
effectiveness and channel delivery relevance. Collaborates
effectively with C-Suite, PMs, Engineering, Design and Data to
create, plan and own our product roadmap and the appropriate
success metrics that measure the trending and overall results.
-Operations - Prepares and manages the department budget and
overall performance, recognizing when changes needed to occur in
order to maximize the value that owned products and services can
bring to our members and the organization's financial
results.Continuously improves product management team's impact and
productivity, building a culture of excellence. Participates in
annual strategic planning sessions, as requested.
-Communication - Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing,
in-person and virtually. Collaborates with peers on a frequent
basis to align on mutual priorities and to find ways to better
serve the membership. Initiates and reviews the member experience
and Voice of the Member survey results to uncover specific actions
and improvements that will create member engagement.
-Teamwork & Leadership - Understands member behaviors and
influences cross-functional teams to develop and drive member
engagement and experience strategies that meet or exceed financial
goals and member expectations. Recruits, professionally develops,
motivates and retains a team of high performing, results-oriented
and member-focused staff helping to develop their craft and career
paths.Drives the team to meet and exceed department goals and
objectives by creating and holding them accountable to expected
performance levels. Identifies gaps and innovates/adjusts as
needed. Collaboratively leads the 'walk the wall' (journey mapping)
efforts to better understand member experiences and to improve
them.
-Board & Executive Meetings - As requested, attends meetings to
report on areas of responsibility and actively participates in the
organizational short-and long-term strategic planning and goal
setting. Provides executive updates on product offerings and growth
outcomes.
Supervisory Relationships:
-Reports directly to the SVP, Chief Retail Officer as a member of
the Retail Leadership Team.
-Direct supervisory responsibility for a product management
team.
Qualifications:
-BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance or related field; or
equivalent professional experience; MS or MBA a plus.
-Minimum 8 years of senior leadership experience in financial
industry.
-Minimum 10 years of product management experience.
-Certifications in Product Management, Roadmapping and/or
Development a plus

Requirements

operations.

-Demonstrated success in providing leadership, support, motivation,
and professional development to staff.
-Understands the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and ensures
compliance through monitoring and reporting of member activity as
appropriate.
Working Conditions: Work is generally performed within an office
environment, with standard office equipment available and usually
sedentary in nature. Requires traveling to Credit Union branches
and other venues, and attending special and community-related
events during business hours, evenings and/or weekends.
Participation in TCU Driving Program is required.Incumbents will be
required to furnish their driving record from the Department of
Motor Vehicles, proof on insurance and sign an authorization so TCU
can obtain records directly from the Department of Motor
Vehicles.Subject to any limitations imposed by law, full
cooperation with any request for records or request for an
authorization to seek such records is required.
Compensation:Base salary starting range: $180,000 annually -
$280,000/annually is commensurate with experience.
