Job Description:
Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology
company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit
frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D
pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse
oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors
for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the
Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding
scientists/professionals in a tireless commitment to patients with
cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.The
Opportunity:As a key member of a cross-functional Translational
Sciences Team, you will report to Senior Director and Head of
Translational Sciences within Translational Research and will:
- Lead a team of preclinical scientists to conduct forward and
reverse translational research for our portfolio of RAS(ON)
inhibitors.
- Collaborate with members of Biology, Clinical and Translational
Medicine to generate and/or interrogate internal and external
clinical and/or preclinical data sets and identify candidate
biomarkers of response and resistance.
- Use insights to inform clinical development strategies,
including patient selection and combinations.
- Collaborate with TM and clinical colleagues to implement
candidate biomarkers into Translational Biomarker plans for RVMD
RAS(ON) inhibitors in alignment with overarching clinical
development strategies.
- Evolve technical competencies of biomarker sciences group,
identify and validate new technologies and/or capabilities.
- Accelerate integration of mining of large scale preclinical and
clinical datasets into our translational research strategies and,
in association with broader digital data transformation initiatives
within Research, drive the organization and harmonization of large
biomarker datasets.Key Responsibilities:
- Implement translational research strategies for RAS-driven
diseases. Identify and validate candidate biomarkers. Collaborate
with colleagues in Translational Medicine and Clinical Development
to drive transition of these candidate biomarkers to Translational
Biomarker Plan implementation in RevMed trials.
- Supervise a team of Translational Scientists and biologists and
deploy team resources across RevMed projects.
- Leverage strong cross-functional skills and engage in
collaborative leadership across forums, project teams and working
groups, performing forward and reverse translation efforts,
exploring mechanisms of resistance and testing therapeutic and
combination strategies.
- Drive efforts to organize and harmonize large biomarker data
sets across Translational Research, as part of a digital data
transformation initiative. Accelerate integration of mining of
large scale preclinical and clinical datasets into our
translational research strategy.
- Engage with external collaborations including academic center
and CROs to drive execution of key projects and bring in new
technologies.Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
- PhD in molecular oncology or equivalent training and background
in the principles of oncology.
- 7+ years of experience in oncology drug discovery in a life
sciences environment.
- Proven leadership of cross-functional research efforts and
experience working at the interface between discovery and
development within the oncology field is essential.
- Strong strategic management/coordination skills, with the
ability to develop project roadmaps, manage timelines, and align
key stakeholders across departments.
- Computational biology skills and/or experience with large data
mining; familiarity with life science software platforms (e.g.
Benchling), cloud-based storage, integration, and compute
infrastructures.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership
abilities, particularly in tackling complex projects involving
diverse scientific, technical, and leadership teams.
- Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced, rapidly evolving
and scaling company, operating in a highly competitive
field.Preferred Skills:
- Small molecule drug development skills and Translational
Research and/or Development background are a plus.
- Experience coordinating the curation, ingestion, and
harmonization of legacy scientific data across internal, external,
public, and licensed data sources.The base salary range for this
full-time position is $204,000 to $255,000 for candidates working
onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed
on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual
working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local
market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by
role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple
factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics,
and relevant education or training.Please note that base salary is
one part of the overall total rewards program at RevMed, which
