Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Sacramento,
California, 95823! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN
Specialty: Family Birthing Center (L&D, PP & OB) Duration: 13
weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience:
Minimum of 2 years License: Yes Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP,
AWHONN-Advanced (STABLE preferred) Must-Have: Ability to float to
mother-baby unit and circulate C-sections Description: Unit
operates in a high-risk environment with couplet care. Candidates
must be willing to manage all aspects of labor and delivery from
start to finish. Must be comfortable circulating C-sections.
Candidates should verify if they are able to catch a baby. The unit
has 10 labor and delivery beds and 2 operating room suites for
C-sections. There are 3 triage beds available. The postpartum area
has 12 beds. The unit experiences approximately 100-150 births per
month. Ratios followed are 1:3-4 for couplets, with labor and
delivery ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:2 and antepartum at 1:1-3.
Common patient diagnoses include preterm labor, bleeding,
inductions, cesarean sections, and hypertension. RNs are required
to titrate drips, primarily Pitocin. The unit has surgical techs
assigned. An OB hospitalist is present 24/7, with a neonatologist
and anesthesia on call. RNs must be capable of reading and
interpreting EKG strips for mothers in recovery. The unit utilizes
GE Corometric monitors for fetal surveillance. Shifts begin at 6:45
PM with report conducted at the bedside. Floating may occur to
other facilities, but in-house floating is rare. Scrubs are
provided for staff. Cancellation policy allows for shifts to be
canceled under certain conditions. Charting is done using Cerner. 5
