ICU/Critical Care RN in Woodland, California, 95695! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU
(Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights
Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU
experience License: Required Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS PALS
Must-Have: Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
Description: Candidates must have two supervisor references for
submission, including one within the last 12 months and one within
the last three years. Candidates may not have been directly
employed by any associated facility within the past year. A Dys
exam is required prior to acceptance and must be completed within
24-48 hours. Candidates have two attempts to complete the exam
successfully. If a candidate fails the second attempt, they will be
disqualified from further consideration. The ICU consists of an
8-bed unit with a patient ratio of 1:1-2. Charge nurses generally
do not take patients but may provide break relief as needed. Nurse
aides are available based on census and staffing. Weekend
requirements include every other weekend, with holiday rotations in
conjunction with core staff. Scrub color is navy, with specific
guidelines for undershirts and jackets. All staff must be prepared
to float to other facilities and departments if required. The ICU
is designed with a horseshoe layout and is adjacent to the PACU.
Common diagnoses include primarily medical ICU conditions. The
cancellation policy allows for the cancellation of up to four
shifts during an assignment. The charting system used is
electronic. Self-scheduling is implemented, but schedules are
finalized by management. Shifts run from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with
report conducted at the bedside. Additional shifts are available,
and staff can indicate availability for extra shifts and trades
with colleagues. Floating to other facilities may occur, and
mid-shift floats are rare but possible. Floor-specific orientation
