As a Software Engineer in Test, you will design and implement automated test infrastructure to validate our embedded software and hardware with a focus on our unique propulsion system. To succeed, you will develop a strong understanding of how our systems work and how to break them to ensure a high bar of quality for our embedded software systems.Responsibilities

• Design and implement Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) automated test infrastructure for our embedded systems
• Work closely with software and system owners to develop deep understanding of how our systems work
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop testing coverage requirements
• Author and execute test plans to ensure our embedded systems meet functional and safety requirements
• Root cause test failures and clearly document bugs for tracking purposes
• Support development testing in the lab and in the fieldMinimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience testing software/firmware
  • Proven experience in embedded systems test infrastructure
  • Proficiency coding in C/C++
  • Experience with test automation and continuous integration
  • In-depth knowledge of CAN bus
  • Experience working on safety-critical systems
  • Self-directed and motivated with the ability to work effectively in uncertain situationsPreferred Qualifications
    • Experience with ISO26262 or similar functional safety standard in a different industry
    • Experience debugging across communication protocols such as CAN, UART, etc.
    • Experience working with HIL platforms like dSpace, Speedgoat, VeriStand, etc.
    • Familiarity with Simulink and MATLAB for model-based HIL testing
    • Ability to read electrical schematics and datasheets
    • Proficient with basic lab tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron, etc.)
    • Experience with test and automation frameworks (e.g. Jenkins, Pytest, TestRail, etc.)
    • Experience working on high voltage and/or propulsion systems
    • Basic understanding of microprocessors and associated peripherals
    • Experience with startup or other small company environmentEquity
