The Lead Material Handler is responsible for providing direction to one or more Forklift Operators, training, assigning work, and resolving problems within area of responsibility. Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in distribution center or storage yard.

Responsibilities:

* Supports, trains and certifies newly hired LTOs
* Operates industrial powered lift truck in a safe and efficient manner
* In the absence of the Shift Supervisor the Lead will act as Supervisor as needed
* Inventories materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed
* Assists Supervisors and management of the facility in planning, assigning and directing work
* Assist LTO's with daily issues
* Assist other Leads and Supervisors with ensuring that policies, procedures, and best practices are being followed
* Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
* Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
* Other duties as assigned.

Lead, Material Handler 3-122First Shift

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
* Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies.
